Today is Palm Sunday, and in the tradition of the Methodist Church, the sermon was on the triumphal entry that Jesus made into Jerusalem, mounted on a donkey. The people who gathered there waved palm branches and also laid them on the path, shouting, "Hosanna! Baruch haba b'Shem Adonai!, which means "Come save us! Blessed is He who comes in the Name of our Lord!".
Rev Reuben Ng preached his 69th sermon (since he was posted to Paya Lebar Methodist Church) which he entitled "Mounted on a Donkey". For me, the highlight of his sermon was how he was able to link this event to the divine exchange that took place on the cross as described by Paul in 2 Cor 5:21 whereby "God made Jesus who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."
