There is this "game" that is "played" when two persons happen to say the same word at the same time.
One person will attempt to say to the other first, "Jinx!"
If both happen to say the word "jinx" contemporaneously, then one person will attempt to say to the other first, "Double jinx".
If again, both persons happen to say the words "double jinx" simultaneously, then the game is supposed to end with "Give me a soda!".
Well, my son has added a fourth which is "I don't bother".
As a matter of fact, this has now become one of his favourite phrases.
Come to think of it, not being bothered is Biblical when the time calls for it.
Jesus Himself told Martha in Luke 10:41, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things" (NASB)
We see in Luke 8:22 our Lord Jesus not being bothered by the wind and the storm, fast asleep in the boat.
We see Paul telling us in Phil 4:6 not to be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, to make our requests be known to God.
We see Peter telling us in 1 Pet 5:7 to cast all our cares upon Him, because He cares for us.
So the next time the devil tries to bring worry, fear or anxiety upon you, respond the way my son does and tell him, "I don't bother!" Amen?
