Happy Easter!

Sunday, 8th April 2007

In the tradition of the Methodist church, the worship leader (WL) and the congregation (C) will announce responsively as follows:

WL: Christ is risen!
C: He is risen indeed!
WL: Hallelujah!
C: Praise the LORD!

Easter is significant because it was the day that Jesus Christ was risen from the dead.

We read in 1 Cor 15:25-27 that all of of Christ's enemies were put under His feet, and the last one of which was death.

That means the reign of Christ has begun, and as His co-heirs, we too can reign in life!

In church, Pastor Peter Koh spoke about the 3 "empty promises" of Easter.
- the promise of an empty cross
- the promise of an empty tomb
- the promise of the empty linen cloth

How true indeed! The empty cross, tomb and linen cloth signify to us that the Lord Jesus Christ is alive, and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father, interceding for us each day.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow
Because He lives, all fear is gone
Because I know, I know He hold the future
And life is worth the living
just because He lives.

O fellow child of God, a blessed Easter to you!
