Pet Project

Sunday, 20th January 2008

Those of you who saw the video montage that was put together by my family to celebrate my 40th birthday must have seen this snapshot of a hamster at the 3 min 26 sec mark, and probably wondered what that was all about.

My daughter had for the fun of it, cheekily sneaked in that photo, saying that the hamster is "part of the Loh family".

Just 5 days before that on 15 Dec 07, I had gone shopping with her at Vivo City and we wandered into a mega pet store located there. One thing led to another and we ended getting a hamster.

She asked me what Biblical names started with the letter H and thus, Hannah became the latest addition to the Loh family.

I was checking out her blog at the start of the year, and one of her NY Resos was "to keep Hannah alive as long as possible". This was because her good friend's pet hamster passed on after just 2 weeks, which made her aware that hamsters have a very high mortality rate.

I am pleased that not only has Hannah been kept alive for more than a month now, she has also put on the grams, if you get my drift. My daughter has also been an extremely responsible pet owner, feeding and sand-bathing her everyday, and cleaning her cage at least twice a week.

This is a video that she put together and asked me to upload using my YouTube ID (since she is still too young to own a YouTube account). As you can see, she has been very "well-provided for" by my daughter.
