Plagiarism-Detection Made Easy

Friday, 9th January 2009

Because of the recent "development", I did a Google search on the word "plagiarism" and some of the links that it returned are to plagiarism-detection tools.

One such tool is called WCopyfind which can be downloaded and used for free. It is very user-friendly and wizard-driven.

Here is how to perform plagiarism-detection in 3 easy steps

(1) Launch WCopyfind

(2) Drag and drop the documents to be compared into the 2 windows as indicated.

(3) Click on Run and examine the results.

The higher the percentage of similarity, the greater the possibility that plagiarism has taken place.

Here is the file comparison report generated by WCopyfind when the articles by Rev Peter Koh and P G Mathew were compared.

The similarity percentage between the 2 articles was at an impressive 84%.

I leave it to you readers to draw your own conclusions.
