Last night, together with my parents, I attended the Closing Ordination Service that was to conclude the 4-day session of the Trinity Annual Conference (TRAC) of the Methodist Church in Singapore.
It was held at Pentecost Methodist Church, located in Pasir Ris, whose senior pastor is the Rev Jonathan Seet. Rev Seet is an "old boy" of PLMC, and his younger brother Alvin still worships here and is currently one of the cluster leaders.
It was a momentous occasion for our church because one of our pastors, the Rev Tay Kay Leong was being ordained as an Elder.
A red stole was laid upon him by none other than the Bishop Rev Dr Robert Solomon himself!
Thanks to Rev Seet, I was permitted to get up close and personal to where the action was to capture these moments on video.
Last year's session was held at Living Hope in Tampines, during which our ex-pastor Rev Barnabas Chong, was ordained as an Elder. Guess where next year's will be held -- yup, at our very own church! -- and it is going to be an election year... but more about that in a future post).
The appointment of pastors were announced towards the end of the service and the good news is that all our 3 pastors have been re-appointed back to PLMC.Here is a snapshot of our 3 pastors -- namely Ps Reuben Ng, Rev Tay Kay Leong and Rev Peter Koh. You can tell from the expression on their faces how they feel about being with us for another year :-)
Let us continue to partner with them to fulfill our vision, that is to be a family blessed to bless the community and the nations. Amen?
